Ephemeral Thoughts
By: Miki Yamuri
Here I sit, lost in thought,
Watching what this world has wrought.
Through the mist I can see
There is no place in it for one like me.
So far away from the sea.
In site, there is no tree.
Desolation nipping at my knee.
There is no place in it for one like me.
Far and wide, in the lee
Rage follows as far as I can see.
Burning deep, long lost memory.
There is no place in it for one like me.
I am very small,
Never stood very tall.
My heart is soft and meek,
But realize this doesn't make me weak.
All the day I play
In puddles I walk the way.
Can you hear me say,
Come with me and play.
I look across the street and see,
How adults are in such misery.
Can they really be such fools?
How happy are Baby Rules.
How I love big mud puddles.
Nothing here to make a mind muddle.
To foreign adventure we sail,
A child's adventure on this trail.
