My dog is really human, and he has told me so,
He has a way of saying yes, and of saying no,
He is full of hope and faith, especially in me,
His large brown eyes have shown me so quite expressively,
His love is unconditional,It will never fail,
His joy is pure and simple I see it in his tail,
He only wants his back scratched, I gladly have complied,
In return he’s loyal and he’s always at my side.
He is my best companion, My confidence is whole,
he’s keeping all my secrets, and never tells a soul.
He listens quite intently, He sniffs and tests the air,
and he lets me know whenever someone else is there.
I’m sure that he’s a genius, And tell him with a shout,
each time he comes and asks me if I will let him out.
I show him plainly by a kiss on his cold, wet nose,
our love is mutual, and I’m certain that he knows.
